MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT made between THE GOVERNMENT

OF THE COLONY OF HONG KONG represented by HIS

EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR and HIS MAJESTY'S

SECRETARY OF STATE FOR AIR represented by THE

OFFICER COMMANDING THE ROYAL AIR FORCE BASE at

KAI TAK HONG KONG.

BE IT REMEMBERED that the Government of the Colony of Hong Kong has set aside and appropriated a piece

or parcel of ground situate at or near Kowloon City in the said Colony for the purpose of

constructing an aerodrome for commercial and other purposes which said piece or parcel of

ground is more particularly delineated on the plan anexed here to and thereon coloured pink

yellow and blue.

AND BE IT REMEMBERED that the Government of the said Colony has constructed an aerodrome on the said

piece or parcel of ground and has expended thereon a sum of Two million two hundred and fifty

seven thousand two hundred and twenty eight dollars Hong Kong Currency ($2,257,228).

AND BE IT ALSO REMEMBERED that His Majesty's Secretary of State for Air has contributed out of Imperial

sum of One hundred thousand pounds (£100,000 or $1,117,876 Hong Kong Currency) towards

the construction of the said Aerodrome.

AND BE IT FURTHER REMEMBERED that in consideration of the premises the Governor of Hong Kong for and on

behalf of the Government of the said Colony DOTH hereby grant unto His Majesty's Secretary of

State for Air the right to use that portion of the said Aerodrome which is coloured pink on

the said plan for the purposes of His Majesty's Air Force TO THE INTENT that the Colonial

Government and His Majesty's Secretary of State for Air shall have joint and equal rights in

the use and control thereof subject to the directions orders and decisions of the Governor

of Hong Kong in the case of conflict of interest in administration thereof.
